Lockdown Service - 1st November 2020
Welcome to our Sunday readings and sermon.
All Saints is a commemoration that started in the fourth century. From its earliest days, the Church has recognised as its foundation stones those heroes of faith whose lives have excited others to holiness and have assumed a communion with the Church on earth and the Church in heaven. In Christ all the faithful, both living and departed, are bound together in a communion of prayer.
Remembrance Sunday is next week on the 8th November. There will be a laying of the wreathes at 10:45 the North Lychgate, however in keeping government and local authority guidelines, attendance is not encouraged.
If you do attend, social distance must be maintained and face coverings worn throughout.
We read out the names of those who died from our community in the First World War, lay wreaths and then proceed to the main Lychgate for the remembrance of the 2nd World War and two minutes silence.
We are collecting now for the 100-club draw to be held on Sunday 20th December.
Our service transcript is below for those unable to attend.
